To The Y. P. S. C. E.

Dear Christian Endeayers, one of the most eventful years in the history of this greatest nation on the face of the globe is approaching its end, 1898. Crowned with the Laurels of Manila. Santiago and Elcaney, we now command the respect of the nations of the world, for our wonderful progress. The foundation of all this is the fact that we are a christian nation, and we have astonished the civilized world with the practical application of our christain civilization. Not only the guns and "the men behind the guns," but God has been in, and through and back of it all.

Blessed is that nation whose God is the Lord. Ourefforts in local work crowned with Gods blessings, have brought hopeful results through the entire state. In our own county, we are in a position to say to the saloons, you must close up and go out of business, and they will do so. When God speaks through a nation, a state or an individual, it means something. The apparent destiny of this nation is upward and the Endeavor army, as a potent factor tried, loyal and true, will under God's guidance lead this people on to greater triumphs, broader fields of christain civilitizaon, great er courage and richer conquests.

And now as the old years passes from the stage of action, let us thank God for the courage it gave us, the wisdom it brought us, and the blessings it vouchsafed. And the new year, if the Father grants us one more, let us write every one of its three hundred and sixty five pages with deeds of during, justice, love, snnshine and helpfulness. J. J. 0. BROWN, Clerk. GEORGE SCOTT. Treasurer, Two Pointed Questions Answered. What is the use of making a better article than your competitor it you can not get a better price for it? Ans.

-As there is no difference in the price the public will buy only the better, so that while our profits may be smaller on a single sale they will be much greater in the aggregate. How can you get the public to know your make is the best? If both articles are bought prominently before the public both are certain to be tried and the public will very quickly pass judgment on them and use only the better one. This explains the large sale on Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. The people have been using it for years and have found that it can always be depended upon. They may occasionally take up with some fashionable novelty put forth with exaggerated claims, but are certain to return to the one remedy that they know to be reliable, and for coughs, colds and croup there is nothing equal to Chamberlain's Cough Remedy, For sale by M.
