James Mullins was taken to the asylum in Topeka by Deputy Sheriff Gregory who was accompanied by Probate Judge Duncan. According to Comanche County Commissioner's Proceedings 24 July 1891, S. P. Duncan was awarded $77 for the trip to the asylum with James Mullins. James son Stephen F. Mullins lived in Nescatunga township. James was in his care based on Stephen being paid $28 for James care at the same Commissioner's Proceedings.
